 Statement of Faith
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works... Ephesians 2:10
1. We believe in the inspiration of the Holy Bible, both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. Job 32:8 – “But it is
the spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.”2 Timothy 3:16 – “All Scripture is Godbreathed
and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
2. The creation of man by a direct act of God. Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7, 18 – “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in
our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over
all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created
him; male and female He created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the
earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on
the ground.” The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
and the man became a living being. The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper
suitable for him.” Matthew 19:4a – “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator made them
male and female.”
3. The Incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Isaiah 7:14 –“Therefore the Lord Himself will give
you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel”. Matthew 1:18 –“
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they
came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.”
4. His Identification as the Son of God. John 1:34 – “I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God.”
5. His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross. Isaiah 53:5-6 – “But He was
pierced for our ransgression, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
and by His wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the
Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Matthew 20:28 – “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to
serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Galatians 3:13 –“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by
becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” John 1:29 – The next day John
saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
6. The resurrection of His body from the tomb. Matthew 28:5-6 – “The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I
know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the
place where He lay.” 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 – “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those
who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”
7. His power to save men from sin. Romans 5:8-10 – “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from
God’s wrath through Him! For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His
son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!”
8. The new birth through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit. John 3:5- “Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can
enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.’”
9. The gift of eternal life by the grace of God. John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
10. And ascribe to biblical standards of morality. 2 Timothy 3:16 – “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” |
